Meet My Good Friend Curiosity - The Power of Asking Questions
Asking open-ended questions is an invitation for emotional connection in relationships and to ourselves. Why did I respond that way? How do I show up in my relationships? What are my dreams during this stage of life? This talk offers practical questions and examples that lead to knowing ourselves, our loved ones, our place in the world, and who God is better. Audience members will reflect upon and create a list of questions that are realistic to think about and answer during any stage of motherhood. To be known and loved is what we all need, and probably a few more hours of sleep!
I’m Busy Getting to Know My Kids. However, Do They Know Me? Do I Know Me?
Being a mom requires endless energy invested outward toward our kids, especially knowing their hearts and what makes them tick. Often times this happens without sharing nuggets about who we are as their mom. Do your kids know your favorite food, hobby, biggest accomplishment, and what makes you smile? Do you know the answers to those questions? Motherhood can often feel mundane, draining, and like a part of oneself is on hold. However, this daily journey can be filled with deep connection to one’s heart, personal desires, interests, hopes, and fears. God is faithful to do great work in us no matter our routines and circumstances. Audience members will be equipped with practical tools to keep a close pulse on knowing themselves and growing personally during their daily routines versus adding one more thing to their to do list. What is God doing in your life during this stage? What brings you joy? What are your personal goals? Let’s grow in our knowledge and understanding of ourselves and share that with others.
As My Kids are Growing, My Heart is Healing
God is gracious to hand pick the children to create our family unit, just like He did for us. I believe that with my whole heart even if at times it doesn’t feel that way. When hard times come we navigate them to the best of our ability and move forward. However, when our kids are the ages we were when those tough circumstances happened we have a new opportunity. We can embrace and dig deeper to reap more of the, “All things works together for good” God intends for our experiences. Participants will be inspired and equipped with practical tools to anticipate these life stages with encouragement and hope. It’s like having a second chance or hitting the reset button. At the very least it’s another opportunity to thank God for being sovereign and Lord over our lives. Together we can link arms and encourage one another on the path of healing, joy, and new life.
